How to Compress PDFs for UPSC Upload
  1. Scan your document at the recommended DPI (150-200 DPI). Use color mode only for photos; grayscale for everything else.
  2. Upload your PDF above, select the document type, and click 'Compress for UPSC'. The tool will automatically apply the correct settings.
  3. After compression, check the compliance report. Make sure all checks pass (green checkmarks).
  4. Download the compressed PDF, rename it following UPSC naming conventions (e.g., id_card.pdf, caste_certificate.pdf), and upload to upsconline.nic.in.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
  • Do not over-compress: Extremely small files may become blurry and get rejected. Clarity is more important than file size.
  • Do not stitch multiple images into one large PDF page. Upload each document separately.
  • Do not use free tools that add watermarks. UPSC may reject watermarked documents.
  • Do not remove embedded fonts if they are necessary for displaying the document correctly.
